  1. Ist QwikQuote schwer zu erlernen ?
QwikQuote was designed by salespeople for salespeople, and most of our new features come from our users.  In other words, QwikQuote is not a programmer's dream of how you should operate.  Our customers often say, "Gee, I can't believe you guys are doing this because I thought of it years ago!"  Because QwikQuote makes sense, it's easy to learn.  We've also made it even easier to learn by providing audio-visual tutorials on CD that you can watch on an multimedia system.  There's even a short demonstration version on this web site that you download and watch right now!  Finally, QwikQuote works with dealers around the world to install QwikQuote and provide training.  And if you're not near a dealer, QwikQuote offers training on-site (more expensive) or over the Internet (inexpensive).

  2. Was sind die Hardware- und Betriebsystem-Anforderungen für QwikQuote?
QwikQuote 5.0 works with both desktop and laptop industry-standard computers running Microsoft Windows 95, 98, or Windows NT. QwikQuote works best on Pentium-class computers. If you require a 16-bit quoting program for Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups, you can still use QwikQuote 4.5.

Minimum hardware requirements for Version 5.0
Pentium-class or faster Windows-compatible CPU, CD-ROM, 16MB RAM, mouse, and a hard drive with 25MB available disk space. Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT.

    Screen Resolution and Quality
Setting your video resolution to a higher level allows QwikQuote to display more of your price list, quotation, and information box in Catalog. Standard VGA resolution is 600 by 480; most monitors comfortably accept 800 by 600, but if you have a large monitor, you might want to try 1024 by 768. Change resolution in Windows Setup or in the software for your video card. When in doubt, consult your hardware dealer. The quality of your video card and monitor determines the quality of the pictures you see in QwikQuote's Catalog.
  3. Is QwikQuote networkable?  Can I upgrade later?
Yes.  QwikQuote installs to your server and runs locally on each PC.   The server shares price lists, quotes and orders, layout files, and even dispenses unique quote numbers to users.  If you buy the single user, we'll reimburse you for the cost of the single user when you upgrade to the network.
  4. Can my sales force use QwikQuote in the field?
Yes.  Your sales force can run QwikQuote independently on portable PCs, then send you their quote files by e-mail or disk.  You'll use QwikQuote File Organizer to roll up your sales force's quotations into a single reporting database for QwikQuote organizer.  Your salespeople spend zero time on paperwork, and you get useful reports almost instantly on field activity.

  1. Can QwikQuote be customized for my company's needs?
Yes.  QwikQuote's Option button lets you customize fields, field order, contact manager, commission plans, and many other features.  QwikQuote's Layout lets you pre-design unlimited Document Types that are pre-formatted for your quotes, orders, purchase orders, or other documents.  We have also added customized functions for hundreds of users who have special requirements.  QwikQuote is written in Microsoft Visual BASIC 6 and uses a high-level tool set, making it relatively faster to customize than virtually any other approach to the sales quoting paradigm.
  1. What kind of support can I expect after the sale?
Six months of free telephone (Monday - Friday from 9 am to 6pm EST) and e-mail support (we do expect you to look at our extensive help systems and well-documented manuals.)   Six months of free upgrades downloadable from our web site.  If you have trouble setting up your corporate logo (QwikQuote accepts leading graphic formats), we'll put your logo in your first layout for free.  If you have trouble importing your price list that you already have in a columnar format like Microsoft Excel, we'll import it for free.  Our tech support policy is:  we'll do everything we can to make QwikQuote a productive part of your business.
  1. Can I get a live demonstration of QwikQuote?
Yes.  Call us for a local dealer.  Or call Tim Heath at 800-598-4465 or write to Tim at theath@qwikquote.com to set up a time to do a live demo over the Internet.
  1. Can I change the way my quote looks and include my corporate logo?
Yes.  QwikQuote lets you define the way you want your quotes be laid out in the Layout window.  Put fields, field labels, text boxes, and pictures wherever you like.   QwikQuote allows you to import multiple pictures and logos from bitmaps, jpegs, gifs, metafiles, enhanced metafiles, and icons.  If you don't have one of these formats, send your logo to us and we'll convert it for you.
  1. Can I e-mail or fax quotes?
Yes.  You can e-mail an image of your quote to anyone as a PDF file by exporting your quote to the PDF format with QwikQuote Version 5.1.  Adobe Acrobat is the standard in creating document images that can be sent as small attached files via e-mail.   Acrobat works like a printer, but, instead sending your quote to a printer, it sends it to a compact file that can be read by anyone with the free Adobe reader.   Most people already have Adobe Acrobat Reader on their system (it's very popular), but it can also be downloaded free at www.adobe.com.
If you have a fax modem, you can also fax directly from QwikQuote.  We highly recommend Symantec's WinFax as the leading faxing software.
  1. Are there any limits on the data QwikQuote can handle?
As far as we know, the capacity of QwikQuote is limited only by the disk and RAM capacity of your system: QwikQuote 5.0 has been successfully tested with up to 100,000 items in its Price List.  Item descriptions are up to 32,000 characters, part numbers are 30 characters, and manufacturers are 40 characters.
  1. Is it possible to set different margin percentages for each item within one quote and have the system do the calculation for you?
Yes. After you can even mix and match different pricing mechanisms: margin, markup, etc. Once you establish a price for an item, "freeze" it by clicking anywhere on that item, and pressing the F4 key. You'll see an "F" in the row marker on the left, and that item will not change in price as you set other prices with different formulae.
  1. How does QwikQuote integrate with ACT!, Goldmine,  Maximizer and Outlook?
QwikQuote's DDE links communciate directly with the three most popular contact managers to get your contact's name, address, and, at your option, telephone number to include on the quote.  Once the quote is designed, the quote file becomes a linked document in your contact manager:  when you want to find Bob Brown's quote, just go to his record in ACT!, Goldmine, or Maximizer and double-click on the linked QwikQuote file.  If you fill in QwikQuote's Probability field, QwikQuote will also update Goldmine's Pending tab.
  1. Do I have to have a contact manager to use QwikQuote?
No.  QwikQuote includes its own contact list to store your names and addresses.   Contact managers are great for managing appointments and follow-ups, but if you just want to generate quotes efficiently, QwikQuote is all you'll need!
  1. I saw the "add bundle" function in your demo.   How does that work?
You can create a "bundle" of products that can be sold as a single item or simply as a group that is selected with one click. Bundles are created just like a quote, except that you save them as a bundle, and you can choose to show or not show part numbers, manufacturers, and line item pricing.  You can also choose to "freeze" all prices in a bundle so that the prices will not recalculate with other items in the quote.  If you do not include line item prices, you can name the bundle and apply a single "bundled" price.

  1. Can the "benefits" and the "user" field be printed as part of the quote?
Yes. There are three benefits for each item that can be turned on or off.  Four user-definable fields can be inserted into any column in your quote.
  1. If I quote a client a computer, I would like the system to put in or alert me to quote them annual support.  How can QwikQoute help me not to forget that?
There are probably a number of items that you or your salespeople want to recommend with every sale. Have you ever had a customer come back and say, "My current problem is your fault because you should have sold me that XYZ"? With QwikQuote, you can create a bundle of those items and bring them into your quote with a single click: in computers, it might include annual support, a surge suppressor, and anti-virus software. You can also add a note to the Layout (the print design for your documents) that says your company always recommends these items to its customers. That way, even if it's not on the quote or order, you told the customer information that can protect him, and covered yourself against future problems.
  1. Can I run QwikQuote on a PalmPilot or other very small computer?
You'd have a hard time running QwikQuote on a PalmPilot because it's a layout, database, spreadsheet, and contact management program all-in-one. QwikQuote delivers more functionality most the average PC program, and is too robust to fit on very small computers. However, it runs comfortably on today's Pentium-based laptops.
